Iran

>> Sunday, June 21, 2009

It's hard for me to make a post about myself when horrible things are happening in Iran so I want to post about this first. It's been all over the news. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the Iranian presidency in 2005 though there were concerns of irregularities in voting, nothing was done. Now again the same thing happens in 2009. The people will not stand for this corruption anymore. Stop the lies and fear your people. The government is suppressing information and blocking communications. Censorship of the people is not right. The Iranian people want to know where their vote is!

I've been following #IranElection on Twitter for days now, and the amount of tweets coming in each minute is mind boggling. You can see some pictures of the protests in Iran here. Also some very profound videos on Youtube here. I warn you video #9 is graphic and sad. RIP Neda. Here is a video of a mother's reaction to her 7 year old son who was beat by the Basiji in Iran:

This is sad, and this is real. I couldn't imagine if that was my little sister being beat, or even worse, if she was killed. The girl that is killed in video #9 of the other site I linked, wasn't even a protester. She was just an innocent bystander who was killed in front of her father for no reason at all. Stop the senseless beatings and killings. End the corruption!

Storms

>> Monday, June 15, 2009

All day has been nothing but bad weather and constant weather alarms. First tornado warnings, then thunderstorm, then flash flood u.u I've been in this same room pretty much all day except when me and Crystal ran some errands this morning and ate at McDonald's. I felt very sick afterward, though I had been the night before so I ended up staying in the bathroom for a good while after we got home.

Well today after reading a little bit of One Piece I decided to play some Super Mario Bros. I then remembered a funny video I had seen of a guy playing through a very hard Super Mario Bros. rom hack called Mario Forever, so I looked for the video and found it:

Afterward I posted on some forums, watched an episode of Zero Punctuation, and started watching Doomsday Arcade which I think is great. Later my friend called and we talked for so long, which ended in me rapping Clones to the music of Super Mario Bros 2 while playing the game, but my phone was about to die and then Crystal called so now I'm sitting here typing this post, debating what I should do next until Crystal gets home.

Hwaiting!

Bleh!

>> Sunday, June 14, 2009

I haven't made a post in a while! I've felt so busy the past few days yet haven't had anything to do really. I'm still staying with my girlfriend Crystal here in Kansas until my friend comes from Boston to get me. I'll be sad when I have to leave and will miss her very much but I will come back soon. There will be an anime convention soon that I might miss :( I hope not but not much I can do about that.

E3! Wasn't that exciting? The thing that caught my attention the most was Final Fantasy XIV Online. I've played FFXI Online on and off for the past 5 years and I sure can't wait for this new game. Since it's been announced I've done almost nothing but find more information about it and speculate about it on various forums. I hope I can get in the beta ;) Please SE! Other games I'm excited for, Super Mario Galaxy 2, new Zelda game (please use Wii Motion Plus!), Super Mario Bros for Wii, Monkey Island (OMG I miss this game so much! I have all of them!), Assassin's Creed 2 (lol finally you can swim), and more.

I've also started reading the One Piece manga again from the beginning. I've just gotten past the Drum Island arc and jeez this manga is just so addicting. I won't pass where the anime is at though because I don't want to spoil myself, but the anime is at 405 episodes and in the manga I'm only at chapter 155 so I have a long way to go :p If you want to read One Piece too, go here, technically chapter 0 isn't part of the story but it is an interesting one shot by the creator of One Piece.

So a few days ago I wanted to search covers of the song Chimera from Pump It Up NX and next thing I find was an awesome cover of Beethoven Virus by cute Korean guy:

Then after that I found another amazing guitarist, MattRach, well maybe I should say he is more of a musical genius and is very young too! I heard his version of Canon Rock and it was so good!

Ok, ok, enough blabbing for now, back to reading One Piece. One last thing I leave you with is my new ringtone hehe:

New hair

>> Saturday, June 6, 2009

Last night I got my hair dyed black though it was already a dark brown.

Here's a quick pic of it now, sorry I'm not all the way awake in this picture lol

Overall I like it and am glad I tried something new! That's it for now, need to get ready to have lunch with my gf. Here is our joint life/ffxi blog (though she makes most the posts) or you can see it from my blogroll.

One last thing, I thought this was so cute, my cutie Kim Ji-seok-I having fun singing a song for the drama 미우나 고우나 / I Hate You, But It's Fine. He's so silly :p

Why I made a blog

I made this blog originally so I could comment on other people's blogs but I didn't realise I already had a joint blog attached to this email. Anyhow I decided that I might post here every once in a while.

Oh yeah today is my friend Hesham's 21st birthday and also his mom's wedding, yes on the same day. Well I wish him the best and hope he doesn't drink too much. I can't see him today because I have been visiting at my girlfriend's house for the past month and she lives in Kansas, while I am in California.

Just a little about me, I love Korean and other Asian cultures too like China, Japan, Thailand, etc. Someday I want to travel to those countries and also learn the languages. Sadly in my 21 years of life I can only speak English and a very little bit of Spanish. Still it doesn't bring me down! Hwaiting!

Here is a video of an awesome game called Pump It Up which sadly is not popular in my area at all :(

Well that's it for now. Jia yo!
ps: Still trying to figure out blogger to make it look nicer.
